When these guys first hit the scene, I was married to my FIRST wife. Being the 'rocker' she claimed to be, she heard these guys and immediately say to me, 'Why don't they do 'their' music and leave us to 'ours'? They probably stole these words from another band'
Sadly, she said this to her BLACK husband who also knew something more about 'rock history' and it's origins' She didn't want to hear that though. It didn't matter to me though, I like what I like.

Very true. I do actually have to think about other international and different political perspectives, since my dad teaches politics, so I probably have more of a knowledge of political viewpoints than other kids my age.

These guys fought through some crap at first. A black hard rock group? No way. Much like the Beastie Boys in the mid '80's. Not everyone excepted "people operating out of their genres". Great stuff. I haven't heard this on years. Time to go dig around for this CD. I know i've got it around here somewhere.

Awesome song. Loved it back in the day. Very relevant with our celebrity worship culture and the worship of Obama... a cult of personality in the making right there. Depressing really. /replays clip

There's also the worship of Sarah Palin.
