  • On Gunsmoke, they make a point of showing that Matt is not Invincible. (like how he lost a gunfight in the first episode) Here he was up against a cowboy whose strategy was to play mind games and then shoot his opponents from ambush. He used Matt's own code of honor against him and the mind games worked... up until this scene. After this conflict, Matt snapped out of it and put the guy on boot hill by anticipating the ambush.

  • @ohalana1 hes not his deputy he just cleans and does chores for matt. sometimes he helps matt with criminals but hes not a deputy

  • @ohalana1 I always wondered about the upstairs office and you mean those poor cowboys they were getting all the time to carry the wounded upstairs.

  • Why is Doc's office on the second floor? All those poor sick and wounded patients always have to walk up and down those stairs...?? And, it appears that Chester is Matt's Deputy. However, he never wears a Deputy's badge...why?

  • And they say his brother had "Mission: Impossible." At least Ben Cartwright could count on his sons.

  • @Gingersnap27239

How to Die for Nothing, first season. What you see here is the end of the episode.

  • That's the trouble with the world today. The Matt Dillons are out of style, and are replaced with reptiles like that guy with the handlebar moustache.

  • @PattiL007 I love a good story...and history. Thanks for the great info

    Cheers

  • @Trund27 My bad...he was actually 6' 7"...and Marshall Dillon's characteristic limp was actually caused when he arrived on the beach at Anzio...German artillery took his shin out...he had to learn to walk again but retained a limp because of the injury. You've probably heard it all before...but I do enjoy a good story.

    Peace...
