ኃይሌ ገሪማ ከማንም ይበልጥ ነጮቹን አብጠርጥሮ ያውቃቸዋል። ነገር ግን ኢንዱስትሪውን በተመለከተ አካሄዳቹ ዘረኛ ነው። ብሎ በሙሉ ልቡ ሲናገር ሲደመጥ በጣም ያኮራል። ነጮች ሃገር ከሄደ ገና ሶስት አመት ያልሞላው ነጮቹን ካልሆኩኝ ሞቼ እገኛለሁ ለሚለው ነጭ አፍቃሪ ትክክለኛ ትምህርት እና ምሳሌ ነው። አፍሪካውያን ላይ በፊልማቸው ውስጥ ደብቀው ያመጡብንን የእጅ አዙር ቀኝ አገዛዝ ፍንትው አድርጎ ለአለም ያገለጠ ጀግና ነው። አገሩን ወገኑን ታሪኩን ጠንቅቆ ስለሚያው ለሚናገው ነገር ቅንጣት ግራ መጋባት አይታይበትም። ወጣቱ ትውልድ እንደ ኃይሌ ገሪም በአለት ላይ ማንነቱን ቢገነባ ምሁሮቻችንን ስደት ባልፈጀብን። ትልቁ በልብ ውስጥ ሊቀመጥ የሚገባው ፍልስፍናቸው ማንም ሰው ራሱን ነው መሆን ያለበት… ራስን መሆን የማንነት መገለጫ ነው።

I have been in awe of this man from the first moment I met him 20 years ago at Howard University until now. He is a shining beacon of hope. Not only is he a symbol of political resistance for me, but even greater, a symbol of spiritual resistance because he has been able to keep his heart whole and continue to be a beautiful and powerful creator. I don't think anyone can love this man more than me. Not even his wife. Maybe his mother.

Mr Gerima was here in The Bahamas last month (May 2009) to give a lecture. He was so inspiring that i have decided to join the team of brave men & women who are travelling about educating blacks (especially diapora) and telling Our Story for the purpose of self knowledge & empowerment. An amazingly brilliant man he is, with a spirit of determination & perserverence that is infectious. We're very proud of him too

This man is a crook who kept ALL Sankofa money for himself. Nine years he promised me a large check if the film did well. The film did extremely well (over $50 Million) and we am still waiting for Haile to share the profits. Nunu died in need of medical care from lack of money. He is a selfish BASTARD!
