First time I've heard this version. Did not realize he wrote it. I have Eric Andersen's version on a 45, but cannot find it on any album or CD. I like Eric's better but probably because I heard it first and am more familiar with it. Funny how that works. Thanks for posting.

Hey! A guy named Tim Moore was Kingfish on the old Amos 'n Andy TV Series! This song was also recorded by a friend of mine from Buffalo, N.Y. John Culliton Mahoney, who had a hit with the Ballad Of Evel Knievel.

Very underated I have (think) have his 4 first LPs. All great.

Being sort of in Florida now but original from the UK.

The thought of sending 4000 singles and 2000 Lps to the US is out of the question at the moment.,dread the cost.
