Every Tuesday night the students of the ConceptArt.Org Atelier gather 'round for a round of Alla Prima portrait painting. El Coro runs the show, which is to say that he leads by example and occasionally walks around with a stick to keep the kids in line. He also makes a lot of jokes, though a few of the jokes had to be set aside to make way for the nonstop barrage of painting wisdom contained in this video. Coro begins with good solid basics: his materials, setting up the palette, and the general proportions of a head. The rest of the video is a painting demonstration covering topics ranging from paint application, color, value, form, and overall approach. Hands down this is one of our finest videos to date.

The DELUXE HD version is 1280x720 and includes a second portrait (without narration). 1 hour 41 minutes of content. $30
The SD version is 1024x576 and contains one portrait. 1 hour 14 minutes of content. $20

  • I bought this and loved it....MB should do more traditional style downloads, like this one and the marko character design one. It always seems to get to me quicker when I can see their actual hand moving and not just a cursor on a photoshop screen.

  • Oh wow im looking forward to this!

  • right on man, thanks for the tips!

  • yap. He is my Idol

  • @alexcostacurta no probably not alla prima ( wet on wet) painting is a painting done in one sitting Liquin is a

a way to cause paint to dry a little quicker but it would still take more than one sitting to properly dry for another layer of paint

  • Very funny and awesome lesson! thanks

  • Did he use oil medium or Liquin medium for mix the paint??

  • is this tutorial available for purchase anymore? i've wanted to buy it since the $7.99 sale started

  • not for sale anymore?

  • Great use of color! Great painting, Malicious this isn't an "exact copy" and camera never come close to that of a well done painting. The credentials are in the "painting"not in what museum show you got into this month. It's about the painting. It's always about the painting.

  • i love d style and how he paints......wow
