  • Divine! In Iranian tradition, Parisa sings long operatic heart-felt notes from the bottom of her heart thru her vibrating throat-like a Bulbul/Nightingale.

Parisa, like Iranian masters, sings the poems of classic Persian poets (Hafez, Rumi, Saadi, Khayaam) abt the mysteries of Life, Love, Fate..

She sings with her soul and heart frm the depths of her lungs and throat, not just frm her mouth.

For those who know the amazing Egyptian Stars 'Um Kalthoum' & 'Asmahan', Parisa is the Moon!

  • nava or shur ?

  • I wish that with the digital sound technology and digital video technology someone could edit this heavenly music and re-post it again.

    Love her voice

  • This concert is a quantum step in Persian music, fore telling the new direction that it would take since. Each instrument has its own voice and a specific role. The first time ever each instrument plays a different melody, a real polyphonic interpretation of the poem Parisa is singing. She is accompanied by different instruments depending on her vocalization. This is a very historic performance. Thanks for providing it.

  • @alicaitan persian music is very ancient and had a big influence on iraqi maqam. there is a persian maqam called dashti which is the same as the iraqi dasht but if you listen carefully you will hear that this is not dasht but a part of nawa (nava in persian): the lower tetrachord is nawa and not bayat, if to use arabic terms. this part of nava is called nahoft

  • I am sorry the words are Maqam Dasht

however can anybody please advice on this kind of heavanly music Do Parsian music have their own Maqams and what are they and how relevant are they to the Iraqi Maqams which deffer from the rest of the eastren Maqams

  • This sound like the Maqam sasht one of the Iraqi Maqam which is a branch of the Hussani Maqam.
