This is not a hoax. Most people are so anchored to what we consider physical reality it's almost scary. It all seems solid, but really everything is vibrating on a frequency. Atoms are what? Mostly empty space. Look up the measurement problem. If you have ever had a lucid dream you'll know that the mind can reconstruct a reality that is nearly as solid, looks just as real, and you can taste, touch, feel, smell, and do anything you can do in waking life.
