The Enûma Eliš is the Babylonian creation myth (named after its opening words).

The Enûma Eliš contains about a thousand lines, and is recorded in Old Babylonian on seven clay tablets, each holding between 115 and 170 lines of text. Most of Tablet V has never been recovered, but aside from this lacuna the text is almost complete. A duplicate copy of Tablet V has been found in Sultantepe, ancient Huzirina, located near the modern town of Şanlıurfa in Turkey.

This epic is one of the most important sources for understanding the Babylonian worldview, centered on the supremacy of Marduk and the creation of humankind for the service of the gods. Its primary original purpose, however, is not an exposition of theology or theogony, but the elevation of Marduk, the chief god of Babylon, above other Mesopotamian gods.
The Enûma Eliš exists in various copies from Babylonia and Assyria. The version from Ashurbanipal's library dates to the 7th century BC. The story itself probably dates to the 18th century BC, the time when the god Marduk seems to have achieved a prominent status.

The term Babylonian captivity, or Babylonian exile, typically refers to the deportation and exile of the Judeans of the ancient Kingdom of Judah to Babylon by Nebuchadnezza II in 586 BC. The first deportation actually took place in 597 BC. The captivity and subsequent return to Israel and rebuilding of the Jerusalem Temple are pivotal events in the history of the Jews and Judaism, and had far-reaching impacts on the development of modern Jewish culture and practice.

According to biblical dating the Kingdom of Judah (also known as the "Southern Kingdom") came into existence in c. 930 BC on the breakup of the United Monarchy. David was made king over the tribe of Judah as early as 1007 BC, and the Davidic line ruled over Judah for over 420 years, until the kingdom fell in 586 BC to the Babylonian Empire under Nebuzar-adan, captain of Nebuchadnezzar's body-guard.

  • Now wait a minute. Why do you call Marduk instead of Enki and Ninhursag? Because you are reading the new version made by semites of the original sumerian tale. Tiamat was an old planet split in two and one piece of it is the Earth (look at the Pacific Ocean). And the Bible was originated from one Nibiru Lord call I am who I am. This Jwhv Lord forbids the semites to worship the other nibiru Lords because he had defeated them in a war. Sitchin, please.

  • @heliosium

Now wait a minute. Why do you try reading the video description before making unfounded assumptions?

The people who invented this myth knew nothing of the Pacific Ocean.

Yahweh is a FICTION, and fictions do not actually defeat anything in wars, and certainly not other fictions.

  • part4. The bible has NEVER BEEN WRONG. Think twice before call God a Schizo dude. He's not imaginary and he is def. my pal. Except he doesnt live in the sky. He lives in our hearts. Do ur research buddy. There is a whole organization tht pumps out the bullshyt in this video. I kno about the reincarnations of Jesus in other religions I can debunk those too.

  • @surpss

Not only do you talk unsubstantiated, illogical nonsense, but you suffer from verbosity. Adios.

  • The contrasts between the Enuma Elish & Holy Bible are vastly contrasting. The Enuma Elish tells a story of multiple gods who are NOT immortal, rather fight & kill each other. The story tells that the god who "beget" all was slain dead.

The Holy Bible's content was written through generations and generations by prophets that were risen up by God Himself. Their contributions to the Holy canon were not voluntary, rather commanded. The Bible depicts very consistent traits of a true & living God.

  • @brandonkeaton

Wrong. The Bible was written by generations and generations of prophets who could not agree with one another. Unless your imaginary SkyPal is schizophrenic, their writings were as fictional---and profane---as those of Jane Austen, but considerably less relevant to humanity.

I don't put up these videos as a platform for unsubstantiated and illogical comments by believers in fairy tales.

  • Thanks for uploading these clips. Very interesting stuff.

  • Part 3. Why believe genesis acount? Again i draw from "The Flood" The dimensions of the Ark in gilgamesh are laughable. Building the ark in tht story would amount to a giant wooden cube in real life. The ark in Genesis however is the complete opposite. Double check wat im saying and look up the dimensions. Naval architects have studied noahs ark found it to be optimal for ocean fairing. On top of tht the bible was 25% prophecy at the time tht it was written. Depite it the bible has NEVR

  • Part 2. People are quick to point out tht the babylonian and mesopotamian txt were written first. The authors of genesis must have known. WRONG! Talk to anybody whose done a thorough analysis of both works. There is no literary dependence. In fact if you look at the flood accounts and assert literary dependence in the hebrew genesis the details and content from both are detramental against the hebrew version. Thts stupid. The fact the flood account in genesis is original. Thts my first point.

  • @heterodoxism2 These tablets or whatevr actually give creed to the old testament. Take the flood in the Epic of Gilgamesh for example. The atheists came in their pants when they found this one. Noah is but one of 500 worldwide flood myths. 95% of the flood legends it was worldwide in 88 percent certain few were chosen 67 percent survival was by means of a boat and etc. Conclusion:a bigass flood took place. The question is which story is most dependable why would genesis the best to look at.
