You cannot find the greatest player by looking at stats: stats don't always tell the truth: if they did then Oscar Robinson should be the best: points per game is Wilt Chamerberlain or Jordan: assists is Magic or Stockton: but if you look at people play in game then you see how they play and my brother watched Kobe play and said that his stats weren't as high as Jordans but he actually PLAYED better than Jordan: he watched Pete Maravich and said he was the best player ever: I agree

As for Allen Iverson i cant belive you put him instead of George Gervin.

Allen Iverson is the most overrated player this decade.He does have numbers(ppg) but his field percentage is very low.

Also whoever says that he made to the NBA finals in 2001 with Philla is a great accomplishment should check stats of nba teams in 2001 season:

East conference(3 teams with 50more wins,last ranked team that made to the playoff 41-41)

West conference(7 teams with 50more wins,last ranked team ... 47-35)

@Hodbrook Don't look at the fancy highlights or the stats when choosing the greatest players: some players have been known to dominate entire games without scoring: you have to watch them play and see the decisions they make and the skill level: Jordan is the best because everyone follows what has been said about him on TV: but they haven't seen him compared to other great players: they just believe what they hear: Pete Maravich has moves that Michael Jordan or any other player couldn't even do

@Hodbrook Also: Jordan is like Lebron James: Jordan is way better of course: but he holds the ball all the time like Lebron and got foul calls all the time when going to the basket: so of course he'll score alot being the good player that he is: but if Pete Maravich held the ball that much and didn't have so many people being jealous of his skills and didn't play his entire career with a knee injury and a heart condition his stats would probably be higher: Jordan vs pete one on one (Pete wins)

This start is pretty much accurate but there is one big miss here,where is Wilt Chamberlain??

Wilt should be on anyones list in the top 3 players of all time.

2.Wilt

3.Kareem
