Dammit, why do I have to be too poor to fly airplanes? A guy can dream
-
@gordybrown11 he had a great landing

Try to approach higher next time. Seems like you were flying just above tree top for too long. If your engine cut, you'd end up in the forest!

Just my (and Gordy's) opinion here, too low on approach, I'm a huge believer in coming in higher and slipping the plane in a bit if needed. All in all though not a horrible landing.

You landed the Cherokee like you would a Cessna. I fly attitude and hold 500 FPM descend, the arrest the descent till the mains touch. Check out my videos at dallasboricua21c. Overall, not a bad approach.

It sounded, and looked as if the tail struck the runway.

not bad but i think next time u can round out and start your flare lower. besides they always look better from outside the cockpit
-
I've seen MUCH worse! You're intact and I assume the plane was as well. You walked away. I call that a good landing- roflol!

cool i want to be a pilot when i grow up post some vids
OK, I guess since you posted you get to listen to all of us old flying farts. First of all you were way below the glideslope way out. If you lost an engine you wouldn't make the runway. Stay higher and tighter. Now, what old52flyer said is right. Leave a little power in until just before touching down and unless it's really bumpy, use more flap. Come in steeper and flare later, you'll grease every one. Trust me, I have over 4K hrs in a 1967 180C.
