What is interesting to me here is how passionate people are about this issue. There are many fallacies about global warming, but some don't want to listen to that because they are "true believers" and any suggestions to the contrary shake their faith in what they "know" is reality. Debate is good. Let's keep talking--but without the finger pointing. This, after all, is what the scientific method is all about. It is not a "true or false" proposition. Science reverses itself all the time.

wow your ignorance should be shocking but your just one of many who knows not what you speak. a few true facts about global warming it will REDUCE Hurricane frequency but increase hurricane intensity so you would see a reduced number of hurricanes but they would do more damage. further more neither CO2 or solar activity individually they both affect climate collectively when there is an apx inverse change between the two average temperature doesn't fluctuate......

@judoisoww 1st of all, about the hurricanes would you mind explaining the graph and according to "AlGore" they would cause more hurricanes if that's the 1 u r supporting before you rush to things that don't make sense, Second, CO2 did u see that Co2 comes after the rise in temperature, I'm not denying that it will increase the temperature slightly but it's not to the extent that we are going to die, I didn't get the part about apx index, but u just don't prove either side. I find that ignorance.

Practically everything in this vid is false. If you want to be educated about global warming go to a factual site like National Geographic or NASA or the NOAA Satellite and Information Service. Even the Environmental Protection Agency's kids site will explain it better than this. Why not try a respected University site like MIT or Stanford or Cambridge or Harvard or Yale or UCL or Imperial College etc etc. If you find some of the Uni sites a bit dry go back to the kiddies site at the EPA :-)

@68spaceman i've watched countless documentaries and i've read alot as well, I did the explanation in brief beacause I wanted to view the skeptics side and the time was limited. I didn't support either side I just stated what they say. And if everything is false then would you mind explaining the evidence MR. intelligent. Oh going back to the kiddies site?, perhaps that's exactly what u need to do if u don't respect 2 sides to a scientific theory, maybe u should try a good university too.

1:59 Seeing as how there was NO Artic Ice cap from about 1000 ad to 1200 ad I think Polar Bears will be OK if the Artic Ice cap melts again.

Do you know why it follows and why people state that it raises temperatures? Do you know that the paper this graph is from predicted this based upon what we know about CO2? Do you know that this was a prediction in another paper because small orbital forcing doesn't explain why the entire earth would warm by a much larger degree than expected from a small orbital forcing. ignorance is bliss I suppose.

Sorry, but I started off as skeptic on this topic, not a denier. I even based my general "i don't know basis" on the misinformation in popular media. The difference between you and I is that I actually read what the science has to say on the matter and understand why the idiocy you spew and the idiocy of many others are completely invalid and there's a lot more to the science than "al gore says".

The sun's activity doesn't really explain the rise in temperatures over the last few decades (which is all that the global warming debate has ever been about) as it has gone through several solar cycles with both minimums and la nina years forcing a low temperature short term variation which is still record breaking. Try and not refer to popular media for scientific topics, a majority of peer review stated it would warm and the academy of science stated they didn't know enough yet.

your understanding of the topic is staggaringly bad, most of the reason sea levels rise is due to a basic principle known as thermal expansion, secondly most ice isn't "just floating" it's usually on top of land masses such as greenland, the idea that low percentage of emissions has no effect is also quite flawed as you're completely ignoring that we're changing the balance of CO2 since it's been in relative equilibrium, a large amount of effects aren't "just from CO2" as much as feedbacks.

@BigHist320fall2010 check out potholer54s channel where you will see actual refernced facts not just ignorant assertions these "skeptics" you say are not climatologists and are playing on people willfull ignorance watching a doco doesn't make you much more intune with facts you should read the actual scientific papers then you will know that during the time 'time' magazine warned of a global freeze scientists were more concerned of global warming

@BigHist320fall2010 al gore is an idiot and a moron in my oppinion he knows little more than you do and HE WAS WRONG he misunderstood the statistics. and CO2 alone doesn't cause global waming it works in conjucntion with the sun if the sun's out put is high but CO2 low the temperature will be moderate same if CO2 is high and solar output low the temp is still moderate but if one is extremly high and the other high or moderate then average temperature will be higher. read actual research

Someone recommended this video as a testament to stuptidity, and it didn’t disappoint. You cite no sources for any of your assertions, and have not even bothered to investigate things you admit are perplexing. Since, as you correctly say, CO2 levels were much higher during previous ice ages, why not find out why this was so? You tell us the sun’s solar cycles are responsible for the past 30 years of warming, so why doesn't scientific research show that? Find out.
