Why were the Ancient Egyptians obsessed with a particular part of the night sky and consider it to be the Birthplace of the Gods? Did they know about this part of the sky that we don't? Were they told that a race of god-like beings came from this part of the sky? Why did they consider the Constellation of Orion to be so important? What is the connection between the pyramids and the Cosmos? Is there hidden significance in the strange design of the crown worn by the Egyptian god Osiris? These mysteries and more are briefly explored in this video.

How fucking stupid can you be to think that people looking at the stars for thousands of years wouldn't figure something out about how they moved across the sky?

@RUCKUS981 It is good to have an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out on the floor. Being open to ideas is intelligence, but being skeptical is wisdom.

You people are too fucking stupid for words. The ancients had advanced astronomical knowledge because it was vital to their welfare; not because fucking aliens gave it to them. Humans studied the stars for THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of years. Why? To know when the herds would return and where. To know when to plant their crops and when to harvest them. They needed to know these things so they wouldn't STARVE TO DEATH. Does it stand to reason people sitting around a fire for hours might look up?
