Strangers When We Meet" is a song by David Bowie, originally recorded for his 1993 album The Buddha of Suburbia. In 1995, Bowie re-recorded the song for his Outside album, and this version was released edited as a single paired with a reworked version of Bowie's 1970 classic "The Man Who Sold the World".

I must agree with this statement! Bowie is genius, he will always be genius. But as my personal preference, I feel that "Outside" held some magic inside it (It's definitely the piano!) that made me just fall in love with the song. The work on the synths in this version is really cool, but it has lost bit of the magic for me.

I think it might have been a tribute to Freddie Mercury. Back in the 70s, Mercury used to paint his nails black and white.
