I went on The Joy Behar Show to talk about actress Anne Hathaway's decision to leave the Catholic Church because her brother is gay and the church is antigay. Publicist Kelly Cutrone was on the panel as well as we discussed the gay closet in Hollywood and why many Hollywood stars are still closeted.

I am a "recovering" Catholic here. What they did in Maine to this day is so nauseating. They donated over $150,000 to defeat gay marriage there. The church is getting involved in politics which they should not be doing as a tax exempt status. Catholic churches are closing all over the place and yet they "find" money to oppose gay marriage?PLEASE! If you read this and are gay do NOT ever give a dime to Catholic Charities...that dime will someday be used to take away your rights..Jim from Ohio

Mr. Signorile, I've read your refutation on your site and have also seen the exact quote by the Pope from December 2008. Your site points to other blogs which take the speech apart and put a twist on it. I've read the exact speech forwards and back and can't seem to find the words "gay" or "homosexual" used at all. am I missing something here? Please clarify. Thanks

The church can get into politics.. there is nothing wrong with it. Many catholic priests have given up their tax exempt status so that they dont have to preach the lies mandated by powerful liberals...The truth must be given out no matter what the cost.
