African American Heritage Month Celebration 2008

Calumet City is blessed with a rich cultural diversity. In February we honored the achievements & accomplishments of the the African American community - a culture proud with tradition and strong in faith.

This year's activities included an art expo by local artists Barry & Jocelyn Ross, a film presentation by local filmakers, music by the KCR Ensemble, guest speaker Robert Wharton of CEDA, and Herb Kent "The Cool Gent" served as Master of Ceremonies. Hundreds filled TF North High School for a memorable afternoon.

Calumet City also celebrates Hispanic American Heritage month in September and Polish American Heritage Month in October. For more information, visit www.calumetcity.org.
