One of Tchaikovsky's most famous variations, Waltz of the Snowflakes is presented by the Kirov in 1982 with Larissa Lezhnina as Clara and Victor Baranov as the Nutcracker/Prince. The orchestra was conducted by Victor Fedotov. The story is based on a Fairy Tale by E Hoffman. It, like most of The Master's Ballets had to re-choreographed by Marius Petipa before it meant with the success that Tchaikovsky so richly deserved!

In this Waltz, I just love the chorus, the harp, and the piccolo!

  • how could people dislike this?

  • i love it because it is joyfull

  • While this is amazing, I belive the pnb's version is much better.

  • @Iceskatergirl22 nevermind....my mom just made me quit....I honestly wish i discovered ballet at a younger age.

  • my ballet performance group is doing this piece, and its soooo hard to learn. (its not on pointe so it doesnt look as good...) but i love the song, so pretty:))

  • My studio used this version of waltz of the snowflakes in our nutcracker. I was sooo lucky to be able to be the demi-soloist! But I also had to be part of the choir at the same time. I had no breaks in this 7 minute long and intense choreography. It was brutal!! But I absolutely love watching this

  • I've been preforming in the Nutcracker for 8 or so years now and this is my favorite dance I've ever been in! They're so much better then we were but I still love it!

  • I was so lucky to be part of the choir for the Calgary production of this for four years. I miss doing it, it's just not the Christmas season without it.

  • The best everrrr !!!

  • Waoooooooooooooooooooooo <3 i love it
