this is just a projector that senses touch the table is nothing special is the projector that does all of the work

Actually, the projector doesn't do the sensing. There are five cameras and proprietary vision processing that assemble the infra-red data providing distinction of touch from fingers from other objects and can tell the direction fingers or objects are facing. It can also read high resolution tags which is difficult with many camera based systems.
