Not to be confused with the gay-themed 1970 film The Boys in the Band....

This DESPERATELY needs more views! A great near top 40 hit that I've almost never HEARD before (I've known of it for years however).

I was at Boy Scout summer camp in July of 1970. This song was real popular then, but someone had shit in one of the fire cans. So I was singing, "How 'bout a little hand, for the turd in the can." I was a big hit that day. My 15 minutes of fame!

One of my favourite songs 40 years ago when I was in high school,it got some spring air-play,but I haven't heard it in about 25 years.(At least!!!!)It was a song which revealed rock as a boys' club, which is why I became a rocker dude and left behind that soul/R&B
broads' oriented stuff.

So much great soul music in the early '70s that a song this good barely registered. Keep up the fine work, Mike.

This started going through my head about three months ago, as some vague Top 40 radio musical memory surfaced from my high school days. Thank goodness for Google and MusicMike. It's as full of hooks today as it was then. Great song!

I had totally, completely, thoroughly forgotten about this song......until it started to play. Thanks for activating those sleeping memory cells, Music Mike!

This one got a little airplay back in the day, but not enough nationally to make it a Top 40 hit. One of those 'faux-live' sounding records, but funkier than most of that type. Thanks for this one, Mike!
