Spoken like a true Nazi. I'm sure Hitler said the same thing when his generals looted France during WWII.

Bush Admin apologists always make me wantto puke.

The military wouldn't of needed "beefing up" had we not of engaged in two wars (9/11 was preventable. Iraq was a war of choice that, at the very least, could have waited until Afghanistan was resolved). Iraq "more stable" than it was six years ago??? Iran has a new ally and nuclear armed Pakistan is in chaos. What color is the sky in your world?

I'm not a Bush Apologist, but I'm not going to stand by and have incorrect information bandied about as if it were truth.

The military DID need beefing up - Clinton had the largest standing military forces in American history under his command when he took over (thanks to Reagan-Bush Cold War buildup) and he systematically whittled it down. Iraq was NOT a war of choice, for Christ sake's they were shooting at our planes enforcing the No-Fly Zone for two years!

Iraq was a geopolitically brilliant move. Before OIF was initiated, the Arab world viewed the US with hatred and contempt. They believed we lacked the will to defend ourselves in the long run and that made us pushovers which empowered the Islamists. That also put fear into our regional allies (mainly Saudi Arabia) which is why they refused to crackdown on Jihadist supporters in their country. Going into Iraq, staying, & persevering made them hate and FEAR us...which is why al Qaeda is on the run

If by Iran having a new ally you mean Iraq, I'd say that's dubious at best. Sure, Iraq has a predominantly Shiite leadership and sure they've opened dialog with Iran, but they most certainly have NOT created a new ally. They value our friendship more than Iran's and they know engaging Iran in any real alliance would undermine our relationship with them...that's something they won't risk. At least not yet. As for Pakistan being in chaos: IT'S ALWAYS IN CHAOS, IT'S FRAKKING PAKISTAN, DUDE!

Yet you have nothing substantive to say.Typical Liberal post. It was rather brilliant rhetoric as well, since,Pakistan's short history is replete with continual examples of instability and chaos, particularly in the Pashtun regions that recently suffered a bit of instability.BTW, shockingly, the Pakistani military quelled the insurrection that was consuming them and have returned Pakistan to relative stability. Ultimately, my analysis is perfectly spot-on. Keep up the bullshit Liberalism though!

Geopolitically and strategically there are ALWAYS winners in wars. Anyone who believes otherwise is equally whack.

If there was one person in Bush's national security team that wasn't a team player it was not Rumsfeld, rather it was Colin Powell and Richard Armitage who did everything in their power to disrupt the Bush Administration from within.

Iraq may have been sloppily done due to the "Rolling Start" that Rumsfeld was forced to implement (and we would have been better had we just gone all in rather than piecemeal), however, we've still persevered. Counterinsurgencies are NEVER easy, Iraq wasn't diff.
