There is no such thing as eternal security HAL. We are assured salvation by belief and faith in Jesus. Well, guess what the greek words for "faith" and "belief" means? "Pisteuo", which is the greek word for belief, means to be fully convinced of something, while being FAITHFUL TO THAT BELIEF. In other words, We are only granted salvation if we are TRYING to be obedient to God, and are totally convinced. Hal preaches: Once saved, always saved. That's not right. (See Matthew 7:21-23).
A great simularity is found in Hebrews 6; and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. AND VERSE 9; But, beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and things that accompany salvation, though we are speaking in this way. THANK YOU HAL for reminding us Believers that we CAN have 'assurance of Salvation' and not live day to day thinking we've lost it.
Can you point me to any bible verse that says anything about accepting Jesus or taking Him into your heart? ... In the process of sactification the Holy Spirtit convicts us of our Sin and turns us away from it, IF WE WALK BY THE SPIRIT AND NOT THE FLESH. There is no condemnation for those walking by the spirit, and not the flesh. If you have quenched the Holy Spirit and are still livivng in sin you will perish on that day. GO AND SIN NO MORE!
@kindredinspirit so what is repentance is it just recognizing sin and evil the way God defines it and changing your mind regarding what is right and wrong and trying to follow what God would want us to do, or is it actually stopping sinning.
@stanzibritovsky If salvation is something you are worried about then most likely you are certainly saved, it is the very spirit inside of you that you recognize and the fact that you would be worried tells me that your heart is for him. The enemy is the one who tells us were not saved and we are no good, and we are no good it is Christ that is good and he blankets us so that the Father see's us as good as his son. We will never be free from sin, we can be free from the death that sin causes
@WorthDieing4 we can live in the world but not be of the world, our very Jesus hung out with the worst and in their worst places but he had a purity just the same, and those of us that are called by his name and we are part of this sinful world just cause we live here that does not necessarily cause someone to be held back. It is what you give your heart and allegiance to. We are not to be legalistic, but we are to be wise and have a true heart for God/Christ.
@WorthDieing4 the kingdom is for those who accepted his son as their savior, not for the perfect, because we can never be perfect, but in our sin which we all are and will forever be and will forever commit regardless if we have accepted Christ, but heaven is for those who God see's through the blood of his son which makes us white/cleansed as he is perfect and clean.
Total misread of the text, he must be trying to support the once saved always saved herissy. Warning if you die living in sin you will be cast into hell, even if you made a profession and got baptized. The Kingdom is for overcomers who endure till the end. YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN!
