I first saw them in 1990 when they had already been around a while and I still think it was one of if not THE best gig I have ever been to having come from the pub circuit they really got the whole live thing so much better than most other bands,
-
The only decent thing to have ever come out of Canvey Island.

I saw the Feelgoods live in 1979 with this line up (post Wilko). That show is still vivid in my memory, the whole place was rocking. What a band they were - RIP Lee, much missed.

going to see Wilko saturday in Aylesbury its been along time but should be a Great night

God help 'em, Dr Feelgood were more genuinely scary than many of the punk bands of that era. Not all. Just many. Lee Brilleaux genuinely looked like if you didn't clap hard enough, he would break your head.

I'm in my mid-40s; lived in Ohio most of my life... never really got to grips with this band until just a few years ago. Now I totally understand what was going on and why they were HUGELY influential throughout the UK and Europe. This band is/was perhaps the most honest representation of true, pure, unadulterated American rock/R&B ever to come out of England. Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the case.
