ya gotta love balut eggs.

The fluid in the egg, Isn't it a mix of amniotic fluid, urine, other bodily fluids of the fetal bird?

Whether you get it in Vietnam or the Philippines, it's the SAME egg dish. Sooo...I don't see how Philippines' balut is necessarily considered better.

Okayy...I have definitely tried both, and yeah, it's the same dish. Some Vietnamese prefer to eat it a couple days more fertilized, but that affects the texture of the bird, not the taste. I never eat the bird anyway...I like the broth and the yellow part. I still stick to what I said earlier, since my Vietnamese AND Filipino friends all agree that it's the same food. :)
