==========
The Naxal activities have lately accelerated in the country. On Tuesday, a New Delhi-bound Bhubaneshwar Rajdhani Express was hijacked by Naxals at a railway station in West Bengals West Midnapore district. After over five hours of high drama, the train was freed and the passengers reached the Capital on Wednesday evening.

Earlier, a Jharkhand police officer was beheaded by Naxals( http://connect.in.com/naxals/profile-1871257.html ) demanding release of some of their group members.

That brings us to the question that was asked on a special show on the findings of the Hindustan Times CNN-IBN Leadership survey: HT Leadership Summit: Is military action the only solution to Naxalism?

On the panel of experts to debate the issue were National Secretary, Peoples Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) Kavita Srivastava; senior journalist Swapan Dasgupta; Former DG, BSF ML Kumawat; Political Editor of Hindustan Times Vinod Sharma...........

  • If the MAOISTS are so poor that they don't have proper food or houses then how do they buy the GUNS, LANDMINES, GRANEDS to kill the police? From where do they get support for those UNIFORMS, TRAINING CAMPS? IF they are Adivasi people who are totally cut off from modern civilization then how do they know about LENIN and MAO? DEFINATELY some people are providing them these things FOR YEARS!! REMEMBER what MAO said, "POWER FLOWS THROUGH THE BARREL OF A GUN".

  • @secularvoice See naxals and tribal are two different classes former is terrorist goups with aim to destroy our way of life, others are Indians still to join main stream.

Naxals with there maoist ideology wants to use suffering of tribals to fulfil there

    Own agenda.

You want to protect tribals, good Indian government should help you.

But Indian government wants to destroy naxal terrorist groups to protect democracy you should help government for sake of tribals living in that region.

  • There are plenty of Left countries who help maoists. Especially rebels from various latin american countries come to India to talk to Maoists.Left struggle is a natural course of a society..When Middle class and Rich takes away the money..the 'have-nots' wage war..There is nothing sentimental about it.Squeamish Indian government sends armed forces to fight and then cries after they get killed..how silly ! Fight like a brave heart! Or stop the reasons of fight in the first place..

  • @aparab82 The same way our freedom fighters used to get guns and bombs when we Indians did not have proper clothing and food !!! Stop asking questions like fools ..research History and research Maoism and Left rebel movements..you will know..

  • @rohitshaikh

Govt Don't want to destroy Naxals. Govt. want The land of adivasi for mining company's. Nandigram is in medias reach still many farmers have lost their life. But in forest Govt can do anything even kill the people. There is no existence of media in forest. I think we can sacrifice boxite for the life of poor Adivasi.

see video of Himanshu Kumar on you tube & then you will get idea what is happening in Dantewada forest.

  • @secularvoice look at nandigram, TATA was forced out of deal due to protest by trinamul congress

they didnt use violence (by the way culprit was WB government not TATA ,

WB government had mismanage land procurement as per there communist socialist ideology of oppression)

  • @secularvoice tribals are oppressed true, corporate woking for them only ,in most

    cases also true

But to start violent struggle to bring justice beats the purpose itself.

See everyone is talking about naxals violence and very few about tribals

This is due to violence, real issues get diluted and anti national elements take advantages of these situations.

if you want development and justice earrn higher moral ground by protesting in democratic way .

  • @secularvoice see thats corupt MPs are also part of problem

but we need to delink naxal terrorism from tribal development

these naxals killing police are doing more harm to tribals than goverment action against naxal terror groups.

  • @rohitshaikh Condemning Govt. violence is a welcome step for our discussion. The so called Indian state is comprise of 100's of criminal; MP's (convictyed for not less than murder rape, theft cases millionaire, billionaires, DO NOT represent the people. The democracy in India is a democracy for the rich the cost of the vast majority. A true democracy with total banning of Huge corporate sharks (they are root causes of the problem) is the welcome solution.

  • @secularvoice

I condemn government for any wrong doings

But not at expense of democracy, law and order and most important Indian territorial integrity.

You at same time do the same by undermining Indian state in favour Maoist type state at least it seems from your tone.

india democracy cannot be undermine for any reason .
