100 years ago not much was known about electrons and particles given off my radiactive substances. But due to RESEARCH IN EXPERIMENTS it was found that the particles given off by a decaying radiactive substance could be used to destroy cancer cell tumours. , these experiments are done to further the human knowledge of how things work, to help us and help us understand the environment we live in.
