  • YOu two are so funny! I laughed so hard at this video and I am very proud of you guys for quitting smoking! I quit cold turkey 5 months ago and it's been a rough ride. I'm still here though and I'm still not smoking! Thanks for making me laugh and give us an update when you have a chance. ツ

  • @annabodhi38

We're delighted for you as well. Cold Turkey is tough...although with some mustard and pickles on the side...but I digress. We're thrilled that you enjoyed our webisodes. We've just celebrated 3 years of not smoking...and not being thin anymore (OK, we didn't celebrate the not being thin part...just bemoaned it). Best to you,

    Meg & Brent

  • excellent and congrats to you. I am 1 month away now from my 2 year mark too. I miss smoking but don't think about it much. I gained 30 lbs too, yuch...but I can breathe man it is worth it to breathe and to know that I will be able to breathe in the next 20 years too. Hang on and when we are old enough to start smoking again the smokes will be illegal...

    Love and hugs

    Diana

  • Thank you for sharing with us. We're thrilled for you...not the 30 pounds part...but the rest. You're quite right, when we start smoking again, we'll have to down the basement and draw the curtains and...wait...that was the 70's. We'll be keeping good thoughts for you.

    Luv Luv

  • Bravo! Very entertaining and inspiring. I agree, you both look better today than when you first started this journey.

    Rita Tateel

  • Thank you Rita for the kind words. We're having them notorized and put on t-shirts.

    Best,

    Meg & Brent

  • @infektyou There is no place in this world for absolutism. I am basically stating a fact on the simple way the mind works. The unconscious mind is like a three year old brother or sister, it is always trying to protect us. So once you develop a habit then your mind will protect this as it thinks its good for you. However, when the pain of smoking becomes too great then you go through instant self-hypnosis. Your willpower goes through the roof, you throw away your cigs and you never smoke again.

  • @Shokat01 Shameless advertising for hypnotherapy smack of absoluteism. Hypnotherapy is NOT the only solution or methodology to ease symptoms.

  • Although about 80% of the people quit smoking cold turkey it does have a couple of drawbacks.

    1. You can put on weight.

    2. You can become depressed

    3. You can put on weight and become depressed

You see your mind wants you to smoke - it thinks it a good idea to smoke. So if you take away its ‘toy’ it will substitute another benefit of its choice. Because of the hand to mouth movement it usually chooses food. So you start eating to compensate. Only hypnotherapy avoids these problems.
