  • My description above (and the title) is wrong: this was 1972, not 1973

  • Wow, she is SO like Chris Evert around 1971. The other women must have had heart attacks when they heard there was ANOTHER sister coming up!

  • jeanne had a big rack thats for sure....she was more bubbly than chris.....in fact chris said her nickname was "bubbles" too cute...

  • lot of gossip involving Jeanne that she had a Serena like chest figure that got in the way. Maybe with the rackets today, Jeanne could have won more.

  • jeanne couldnt come close to approximately chrissies determination to win...in fact, she was interviewed in a story called "the other evert" where she laid her feelings bare....her goal in life was to be happy, not so much to win win win...

  • they never lived on a farm

  • Chris had a brother name John who played seriously and later played college tennis. Jeanne became a pro and played for a short time. Then I think she got married. Then there was another sibling named Clare who is much younger than Chris, who many believed would follow in her oldest sisters foot steps (because she was so talented) and eventually become a champion. Jeanne coached Clare in the '80s.

  • so what happened ???

    do tell...

  • There was a rumor back then, after Chris started to make some waves, that Poppa Evert had another younger daughter with even more talent and potential waiting back home on the florida farm. Jeanne was a fine tennis player and started out well.

  • ABSOLUTELY!! Her younger sister!!!
