General Dynamics has achieved a true break through in combat vehicle design by providing high water speed, outstanding cross country mobility, fire power and protection in an amphibious vehicle. The Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) possesses the ability to launch forces from 20-25 nautical miles out to sea and transport them to shore at speeds in excess of 20 knots (three times the current platform's speed). EFV provides the elements of flexibility and tactical surprise critical to establish battlefield dominance. Its inherent land mobility will generate uninterrupted momentum to attack the enemy's critical vulnerabilities.

EFV's ability to plane at speeds in excess of 20 knots is accomplished by using twin 23" waterjet propulsors. These proven waterjets deliver mission critical power, even in the most demanding sea and surf conditions. The waterjets provide thrust that allows the EFV to acheive excellent stability and superior maneuverability.

  • Sucks, this thing was basically an M1 abram that goes on water and uses a 30mm bushmaster with 13 marines instead of the usual payload.

  • It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it...

  • @wellerocks it will be better if they put 100mm canon in this thing....u know, just like russian bmp3

  • why did they cancel this vehicle the marine corp needs something alot better than the slow as aav7
