A short clip from the 1998 film "The Beast"/"Beast of War".

It tells the saga of a band of Afghan warriors in foot pursuit of a crippled Russian tank across Afghan desert. The film, a drama with some action and no large scale battles, manages to whet the interest, build suspense, deliver some wartime ironies, and provide slivers of insight into what war in Afghanistan must be like - something much more relevant today than during the Russian occupation.

An interesting film which doesn't take sides and well worth digging up.

If you're interested in seeing more of the film look up 'retaliatorek' (user ID)'s videos as he has uploaded some great clips.

  • can u tell me some one what's this movie name

  • It's called either "The Beast", or "Beast of War", depending on where you look.

  • is that a acurate number 1 in ever hundered or has it changed from then

  • No idea actually, I'm sure someone can answer more precisely.

I would have thought the percentage of misfires would have fallen by now, better manufacturing processes and materials but not my area of expertise. I only stuck this up after a conversation elsewhere! :D

  • 2:24 why is a dude in the upper left carrying what looks like a musket from the ottoman empire, I know soldiers would use old weapons, but a antique musket is hard to believe

  • @4567676 the beast of war

  • great movie no phony accents

  • @Herbymac0811 notice they were aiming at personnel not a bunker or tank. tanks have a few more ammo types than just AP. some HE's have a fuse system it would be like a grenade with a percussion rod. yeya

  • Soviets and an Afghan Communist with American accents, that is funny.

  • @4567676 lol the name is Beast Of War....

  • awesome movie but that tank commander is such a cunt..

  • Soviet T72's had auto loaders and thus had a crew of 3.

  • @triumph1974 There suppose to be 4 crew members of that tank (Driver, Gunner, Loader, Commander). The 5th person in the movie is an Afgan officer that is a Observer. Maybe in training to command a tank for the Afgan military!

  • блин взрывчатка ж еще точно про взрывчатку забыл!!!!!! ах да еще мечеть сюки с рпг взорвали....
