This is a 1941 Army or Navy surplus generator. 3kw, 50 volt 3 phase, uses 2 phases to provide
110 volt. Adjustable voltage, vary it from zero to about 140 volt with no load. Not regulated, so
as load increases you need to adjust. Governor on engine will maintain 60 hz, or close
anyway.
Powered by Hercules ZXB 4 cylinder flat head engine. Hobart Brothers generator.
Installed on the frame of my 1950 Kenworth semi.
No muffler yet, just the stainless steel flex tube. Used to exhaust out the side next to
the radiator, but that is now eye-level, so I took it down through the frame and will mount
muffler down there.
Will get sheetmetal sandblasted and repainted soon, right now it is as I bought it 20 years ago.
@jfirewindz Original was long gone, found that at Tractor supply.

@1950cobrajet Well, I paid $16 for mine, but that was 20 years ago!
I saw another on ebay last month, it was missing the sheet metal, but
went for around $250. Good luck.
