This space battle sequence served as intro for a demo CD from Microsoft called Game Sampler 2 for Windows 95. This amazing CD featured some great demos (Diablo, Fire Fight, Eradicator, Flight Unlimited, The Neverhood...) and a wonderful Doom-like 3D menu where the player could move freely inside an alien ship (the one you see in this video) and run the various demos by operating the respective consoles. Please comment and rate. Thanks.

  • @SSJkiller When I was younger I had some limitations as well, so I kept playing these demo CDs for years! Of course now I can download most of these games from abandonware sites, but I kind of miss the magic of those times when you had to buy a magazine just to play demos of actual games. I even miss having to manually configure the sound card for the older DOS games...

  • Yo, this brings a nostalgia rush like you wouldnt believe... back in russia when my family couldnt afford to buy any PC games or consoles id play this thing we got for free with a computer.... good times.

  • It seems to be a common thing between everyone that this Game Sampler CD was amazing. I've just been searching for Death Drome because I absolutely loved that game back when I was younger. Damn that intro cinematic is still awesome. :D

  • THIS is what i've been searching for, for so long now! Thank you!

    So many memories!

  • Oh man, this is awesome. War Wind, Captain Quazar, The Neverhood, Fire Fight, Road Rash, Diablo... memories.

  • cool graphics for that time

  • You're a star dude, I'm going to try out those links, been looking for these for ages =D Cheers! I played 'em all!

  • ARGHHHHHHHH I LOVED THIS. I never thought i'd see it again! Thankyou. Brings back memories. I played Free Enterprise, War Wind, Fire Fight, Road Rash, Neverhood, Diablo and Captain Quazar. The others ones refused to work.

  • Oh man, this was like my favorite sampler. Never could beat that Captain Quasar demo. I still have this disk, but it's badly damaged and inoperable. I never liked how the station announcer referred to DOS games as "inferior" though.

def95, I think you're thinking of Time Commando.
