Mussina's 2007 stats;
27 starts- 11 wins 10 losses. 5.15 era. 1.47 whip. BAA-.311 152IP 188 HITS, 91 k's 35 walks.
Mussina's 2008 Stats:
34 starts- 20 wins 9 losses. 200IP 214 hits. 1.22 whip. BAA.278 3.37 ERA 150K's 31 walks.
a increase of 59 strikeouts at his age is REMARKABLE.

This year his control was excellent. He almost didn't walk anyone. His strikeouts were up from last year, he was able to get his breaking pitches over in any count & even though he rarely hit 90 he fooled lots of hitters on fastballs. I'm glad he won 20 but at his age, just like Maddux after 37, there's not much room for error. If he's not getting his breaking pitches over & has to rely on locating his fastball he'll get hit hard. I can't see the Yanks giving him 3 years but i'd like him back.

it seem like when moose pitches the offense turns it on. he'll give up a run or 2 and then the bats come back swinging. why can't we do that every game? also, i love how moose gets hard on himself and never seems satisfied. not cocky..definitely the hallmark of a truly great pitcher. never dwells in one single win...just looks forward to his next opportunity.

If he wins 20 games this season he would also manage 270 wins. That is what equals 4 wins because currently he has 266 carrer wins. I hope he makes it to 300 because he earns it.

right now hes my favorite pitcher, stupid roger clemmens retires, but i dont think he'll get the cy young, 20 wins definately.
