This must be one of the most fascinating cities to see. I would love to see the masks and glass making, the art and to just walk along the interesting streets which are so filled with history- It looks so serene and magical. I do love beautiful cities which are so historic. Nice video thank you. I cannot wait to visit there and to meet the lovely Venetians. The women and men seem very gracious indeed. I love culture and beauty

I went to Venice last year, and I have got to tell you that this is the most amazing, most exotic, interesting and unusual city I have visited anywhere in the world. I can see why it's so famous.

HORTUS BOTANICUS PATAVINUS Il primo Orto Botanico Universitario del Mondo. Guarda in youtube!
The Botanical Garden was founded in 1545 by Francesco Bonafede, a professor at the University of Padua. His intention was to open a garden of medicinal plants where the properties of plant extracts could be studied for the advancement of medical science.

@kzd209 You might be able to hire jetskis on the Cavallino peninsula which is accessible by vaporetto from the main part of Venice – However, I doubt you’ll be allowed to use one on the canals οr thе lagoon. You could always head north out of Venice towards Lido de Jesolo where there should be more options. Someone recalled seeing ski boats south of Venice below Rimini near Pesaro and Ancona.

@dmbarry777 cab you ride a jet ski around these streets

I have been here about 20 years ago. I think I will go there within short.

I went there this year in july, with club abc tours. It was pretty neat, reallllly crowded cause of tourists including. The trip included how they made glass in venice which was pretty neat, then we got to walk around the maze and whatnot, was neat. My family and I ate at some realllllly small place which was rather meh but reallly expensive.
We then went on the gradliers, must say some people may not think it is relaxing, i found it but some of my family didn't and the water was really dirty.

This is a treat of the MOST EXTRA SPECIAL kind. There is only one thing wrong with Venice and that is the leaving of HER - till next time!
Unlike white2heart, I think the people who live there are the luckiest people alive. Fancy living surrounded by so much beauty!

dmbarry777::Thank you for your info, when i was a kid i used to think that the depth at any canal would be from 3 to 4 feet, and i was wondering how kids live in this dangerous conditions but now i am asking myself how adults live there? obviously the town is unique and a major touristic place to visit, but it is not good to live in it, this is very hostile environment and unsafe,at least for me ..
does anyone knows how deep is water in general? approx.
white2heart 1 year ago
@white2heart white2heart The Grand canal is about 10 ft deep and has 3 bridges.
There are about 400 small bridges on this beautiful island paradise which serve as a crossing point for 150 canals, most of which are knee deep or less.
The canal grande is the deepest. All the others are surprisingly shallow. During flood time " Aqua Alta", the streets of Venice have up to an extra 3 ft of water.

in Italy you don't tip right? at restraunts, hotels taxis? I heard they take offense to that, is this true?
SPANKY5ful 1 year ago
@SPANKY5ful The idea of a “standard” tip of 15-20% doesn’t exist in Italy. Italians don’t tip that much, even when they do leave a small token, and Italian waiters don’t expect that much. Yes Italians actually get annoyed when they see tourists leaving big tips, because they’re afraid the waiters will begin to expect it – thereby ruining it for the locals.
