Greg Boyd delivers his lecture "A Flexible Sovereignty: A Biblical Understanding of Providence and the Nature of the Future" at the Open Theology and Science Conference at Azusa Pacific University, April 11, 2008.
Then who makes the variables? If God defines the possibilities then he would have no reason to choose from them because he already has decided what would happen. This is where I would say (if I were open theist) that man's choices make the variables. But, that puts man in control of God (a dangerous proposition). So then we would assume that God creates all possibilities and therefore controls the whole universe thus eliminating the idea of open theism. I will not comment on salvation for space.
I would say God defines the possibilities, and as we move along in the universe God also decides the certainties.
On the salvation assurance thing, I have no idea what you mean. No matter how many crazy turns the universe takes, God is still powerful enough to assure that those who repent and believe are saved in the end.
sorry I replied from another account. I am the same person who is Gift's Movies.

WHO DEFINES THE POSSIBILITIES???? If how much does God have power over his creation? Can we be assured of salvation?
