I love Gil! He always has that look on his face like, "Okay. I'm gonna start now. Ready?"
So genuine!

This made me cry. So beautiful...

If you listen to many of his recordings, they sound too controlled, too robotic...Gil Shaham is much better in concert, he plays with fire, passion and vunerability...

the beginning is really scary. this orchestra woucl give me a hard attack if i were playing something as hard and as fast as gil takes this. they are not together!
gil's playing is brilliant this has to be one of the most technically sound sibelius concertos i've ever heard. it battles the greats, like oistrahk. beautiful sound, robust tone, very flash, but still very sweet and supple.
what violin did he use? I like its sound!
