Oak Island Lighthouse located on Caswell Beach, Oak Island, North Carolina. Oak Island Lighthouse is the last fully operational lighthouse along the NC Coast, manned and maintained by the US Coast Guard. The beacon produces 2,500,000 candlepower and shines over 24 nautical miles during night. This video shows a close-up of the light mechanism rotating during night.

I love that lighthouse. We have a house on Long Beach and go several times a year. I think it's interesting that they never have to paint the lighthouse - the paint is actually mixed in with the concrete.
