To Brett
An answer to BrettKean's video called "Racism - The Coat Closet." It was an inspiring story that touched me because it reminds me of God's undeserving love towards all of us. The story goes like this: Brett as a child was bullied by blacks in a predominate black school. They picked on him and hung him on the coat rack in the coat closet, left for the teacher to find him hanging there. He later was sent to a predominantly white school where whites singled out a black boy who they picked on for his color and mental disability. Because Brett knew how it felt to be bullied blacks; he didn't mind watching while others picked on the black boy, and he also never intervening when he could have.

One day Brett went to the swimming pool with his grandmother. She had to leave for a while but she instructed him not to go in the pool. He disobeyed her and went in the pool anyway. Brett was sinking down over his head and as hard as he tried, he was unable to swim to save himself . When he opened his eyes after coughing up water, he realized some one had saved him. "I'm sorry I didn't get to you sooner" the little black boy said. Brett could not believe it was the same little black boy he watched others ridicule. "You saved me?" he asked The story was a touching one. One of undeserving love given from the very one you agree to mock and ridiculed

So it is with the mockers and ridiculers of Christians whom God has sent to them .They openly and proudly display such blasphemy right here on youtube against the very Savior of the world. Like the little black boy who saw one drowning they are unaware that God sent the boy to save them by his compassion. There will be a book of remembrance of all the times a Christian was been sent to reach out in love towards the mockers... time after time they mock and reject that love until it's too late. It is appointed once for a man to die..... After death is the judgment...an appointment we will ALL keep on that day.

  • How dare you take away from that young boys actions by claiming it wasn't him who was acting, but that it was jesus. People don't need your religion to be good Geerup.

  • "People don't need your religion to be good." Several years ago, a group of boys at Lakewood High School in so. Cal. were arrested as members of a "sexual posse" they kept score at the sport of sexual intercourse with different girls. Several of the boys' fathers said that nothing was wrong with their behavior. Eric Richardson, one of the Lakewood boys, said, "They pass out condoms, teach sex education and pregnancy--but they don't teach us any rules." we don't need religion we need redemption

  • Being physically beaten, and being verbally criticized, confronted, or even insulted over the internet, are two entirely different things. Trying to equate them, not only won't work, it damages your credibility. Beliefs are not sacrosanct, even religious ones.

  • sounds gripping

  • Haha, that makes sense to you? A couple manipulative bastards with dumb parents proves all of humanity is in need of the blood of christ? Come on Geerup not even you believe that.

  • Here's a question, G-Man: Why should we care what you have to say about Brett if you can't even bring yourself to make a *new* video about the current issue surrounding him? Remember, a lot of us found you in the first place *because* of his pointing us in your direction.

There is something about you that is not as human as I thought it was. So much for trying to bridge differences and possibly open lines of communication. I don't speak for Brett, but consider me

    Someone Who Doesn't Care

  • Very encouraging. Good views and points. I feel the same way. I have faith in Jesus Christ and a proud believer. I still love the ones that hate me because of my color, or hate me for who I stand for, or hate me just for being me. I still love them all because Christ showed us that same love when he died for us.

  • Love your faith keep it up!

  • Out of curiosity, did Brett ever respond to this? Very well done!

  • You're a good guy and haven't met the religious folk that brett did - that's why you don't understand his videos.

The problem is not organised religion in particular, but any form of group-think in general that gets people together and makes them behave in certain ways.

You're against bashing people because you believe that's not fit for your status as follower of Jesus. Brett has no such limitation.

  • I remember the story Brett told. The video is no longer with us but your answer was so "right on the mark" I would like to write an explanation on the side for future viewers if you don't mind. I'll send an email later OK?
