Thanks for this; I know how most ordinary people don't really regard diabetes as a major killer. They say that once you've had type 1 for more than 15 years, the risk of getting your leg amputated/being blind will severely increase. I've had it for 13 years now...I'm pretty close. I'm 15 now.
