@avalonapple I'm sure your Stop&Shop has the IBM Self Checkout. The nice thing about Fujitsu U-Scan is that everything is done remotely so there is no need for a shopper assistance card. I'm not saying that I don't like the IBM, but there are some nice things about the Fujitsu and that is one of them.

What's next? Next we gotta stock the shelves too? Clean the bathrooms, fix the leaky roof? Such bullshit! I DONT wanna do self checkout!! I understand, the bigwigs like it cause the fuckin machines dint call in sick, machines don't claim workers claim injuries. But, really? Consumers hate it!! Fuck!! When I see those machines, and there is no live person.... I drop my shit and leave. Fuck it.

Those pin pads are not thermal...they register presure, not heat, so you need to push harder. Anyway, The IBM Self Checkout was not at fault in this situation.

The problem is not with the self checkout but rather the crappy choice of PIN pads that S&S chose to use.
Wal-Mart lets you choose the cash back all right from the PIN pad at a self checkout.

@dontwalkhand I agree it is the quality of the products that makes the experience a bad one and not self-service itself. I do like having a person help me, like at Wegman's.
