This news open is from WJBK's days as a CBS affiliate owned by Storer and then New World Broadcasting. It is now a Fox O&O. At the time, WJBK was very weak. It is still #3, but stronger in the market.

Does anyone remember a "Stand By" video I think it was channel 7 WXYZ but it was when they showed a cheesy rendered picture and detroit and the sun glistening on the water? Anyone know what I am talking about?

This theme was tied to the promo campaign "Making a Comeback is Always Great News" (hoping that both the city and the station would make a "comeback.") Joe Glover returned from California to be lead anchor, joined by Rich Fisher who left WXYZ.
