incredible band, saw them at the jazz standard a couple months ago, unlike anything id ever heard before, blew mew away. Such beautiful music.

Absolutely correct, Tipsin old mate !
Mulligan's piano-less quartet was something else, wasn't it ?
Have you viewed " Tudo e Jazz - Maria Schneider (parte 12) " featuring the staggeringly talented flugelhornist Ingrid Jensen ? What great 'chops' she has. My personal favourite recording of Maria Schneider's is that of Alex North's "The Love Theme From Spartacus". Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Maria gets her use of 'wordless voice' backing from U.K.'s Kenny Wheeler.

@ErictheJazzer She also worked with Bob Brookmeyer who, of course worked with Gerry Mulligan -- all great arrangers -- good pedigree and great music

What a beautiful piece. I absolutely love this!

I feel bad. Music like this, which I consider some of the most beautiful, passionate music ever created, doesn't reach much of an audience outside music aficionado's circles, and even if it did, the brainwashing of pop culture would stop people from fully appreciating it

Gil The God would be very proud of his 'pupil' Maria Schneider.
