Nikolay Davydenko produced another upset in the ATP World Tour finals, beating world No1 Roger Federer in three sets 6-2, 4-6, 7-5. The Russian produced a superb performance to end Federer's season and move into the final of the event at London's O2 Arena. Seeded seventh, Davydenko now awaits the winner of the second semi-final between Robin Soderling, the eighth seed, and Juan Martin del Potro, the fifth seed.

  • The commentator keep saying "mutaz mutaz"

    What does that mean?

    Does anyone know?

  • :) :)

    well, it's "mumtaz" not "mutaz"

it means : perfect or excellent but it's Arabic :)

  • All of you who talk about this magical mental side and strength are just silly... If you say everything is about your mind then why is Nadal losing many important games now? Is he no more that same man who fights every point as it was a match point? Seriously, sometimes things just don't go your way no matter what you do and mental strength has nothing to do with that. If Roger is so weak then why is he always in the GS finals even though he's in a "decline"...

  • absolutely right :)

  • would anyone pay credit to the Russian guy? Federer is not a one who lets the things JUST go!!!Davyd worked as a salmon in cold water to have the win he deserved. Federer's disappointemnet and a grimace of disgust after he lost the semi final shows how sure he was to gain the spot in finale..but couldnt get thru the Russian's consistent game...there were rallies worth to see and crowd greeted BOTH players' many achievements. RF was good, but Davyd was better

  • I think people need to give Davydenko credit he had a 0-12 record against Federer prior to this match. Davydenko played the match of his life to win he deserves credit. Davydenko has really proven this year he IS one of the best tennis players in the world. Now, the key for Davydenko is if he can play consistent in a slam. I believe Davydenko has the TALENT to win a slam I honestly do.

  • @JordanjamesX Nikolay's talent lies in taking the ball early and pushing the pace of the

match- this is precisely what he did to Fed here. That is why he is so dangerous, especially on indoors hard. He reminds me of Kafelnikov.

  • last 24...........emta mumtazaa emta mumtazaaaa????? what is this? english to some unknown language!!!!!

  • davy at the top of his game = unbeatable

  • baka laka daka! hapa sherpa sherp! derk derk alllahhhh!

  • 2:43 or somewhere fed hit a lob ..

    lol fed stole that one

  • i feel bad for federer, he getting pounded by davydenkos accurate backhand

  • @1000MileLost it's not just you. The ATP courts are really big

  • @kreaze20

    its mumtaz..means great work

  • @ForeverMan91

so he's boring because he's constantly the heavy favorite in slams?

federer is the least one like a robot in the top players, he's the only one that uses all the courts and techniques, baseline to net, serve to rallies to volleys and half volleys... not to mention some ridiculous improvised shots at times

in an era where big tall monotonic power hitters are thriving (del potro, soderling, berdych) how can you say federer is the robot? he's tennis's last hope

  • not even being a big davydenko fan, this win made me so happy. Roger is one of the most boring players to watch. he is a robot. Cannot wait till he is out of the top ten and we actually get exciting grand slam finals like in the earlier part of the decade.

  • OMG, is that a midget as a ball boy at 0:24 ???

  • super Koyla!

  • Davydenko's point construction is other worldly.

  • It's odd...but if you had a video of Davydenko's serving form you'd expect the ball to go 140 miles an hour. It looks so perfect...too bad the ball never reaches those speeds :/

  • is it just me or does that court look huge to you?

  • federer didnt play well in this one

  • Federer sounds funny @4:58

  • what headsize racket does nikolay use?

  • Davydenko it's so fast and he plays with a rythm very big...federer has too much talent...! ahahah...The bet of history...till now...I mean

  • @Plasuun The game is mostly mental. Making the plays and hitting shots is all muscle memory and endurance. A player has to be on it all the time, in their mind.

  • the highlights where good until 5.21

  • @Histamine89 Certainly it can't mean that...THEY USE IT FOR EVERY POINT!

  • I'm sorry, but these highlights are totally biased towards Federer. In this video, we saw 22 winners from Federer and 10 from Davydenko, even though Davydenko hit more than 10 winners in the first set alone. We're also shown 11 unforced errors from Federer for some reason (1 from Davydenko), which makes it look as if Davydenko didn't deserve to win the opening set, which he certainly did.
