The guy in the video cant even encapsulate the expanses of articulate expression in hip hop, instead hes just self promoting hes album. Get the Wu in to speak. But protect ya necks.

@xXsoutheastbeastXx Therefore introducing kids to the fact that songs have more than just music to them, as in, there are actually lyrics attached to it, that do mean something is a good thing :D. Sorry for ranting, I'm not giving out or anything, just writing songs and lyrics mean a lot to me, and it is actually harder than some people think :D

@xXsoutheastbeastXx to be honest I'm not even a big fan of Eminem either but the music, on his earlier albums at least, deals with angst, depression, hardship, and serious issues. Once you get past the stupid tracks, which is generally someone having fun with their art, then you get the tracks that actually mean something. Actually to be honest, the other problem that people have nowadays is that most of them DON'T listen to the lyrics of songs, as is evident by the succes of Rebecca Black hehe

@xXsoutheastbeast I agree with you that most of the stuff that comes out nowadays it useless drivel. It's one of those things. You are just one of the few who has realised that and have started doing something about it, well done. But to be honest, I still think the lesson is a valid one, be it getting Tinchy Styder or getting Jimmy Webb or Chick Corea in, what the teacher is trying to achieve is to at least give them a way to access poetry, ya know? Did you watch the first class that they did?

@cormacmccoy The music thier putting out now, this stuff like lady gaga, lil wayne and drake and that shit. Honestly, i think that stuff is mas hypnosis. Most of my friends dont read, they watch mtv and those channel 4 morning shows with the self righteous repugnant hosts and mould thierself around that image. And because of it they become dumb people, thier not concerned with bettering themselves as people, they become selfish and turn inwards. All through the inspiration of the media.

@xXsoutheastbeastXx why do people like him pollute peoples character??? Seamus Heaney is known as saying that Eminem is one of the greatest poetic minds of his time. Just because you are writing lyrics for popular music doesn't make it any less of an art form than poetry. In ways it is also harder. The whole idea behind dream school was for the teachers to do whatever they wanted to get through to the kids, so therefore it was Mr. Motion's idea to have Tinchy on there in the first place

@stevoelmo I dont think many of the students here know much about Andrew motion in this video, im a sutdent and i didnt really recognise him. I would think the point would be to get get the most effective teaching experience for the students. I think its a problem that people idolise and aspire to become people like tinchy strider whos only the product of coorporate media controlled music industries. People like him pollute peoples character.
