There isnt any potassium in this mix, i think you mean potassium ions? Also i do think permangenate ions also produce a violet color when burned.

How toxic is permanganate? I heard somebody was investigating if manganese is associated with Alzheimer's disease. But they didn't talk about permanganate.

apparently Potassium Permanganate is used for snake-bites. But even if you tell the chemist that he still won't give it to you. I think it is banned in Australia. Does anybody else have my problem?

twisted, 50:50 is good but 75:25 potassium permanganate:glycerol will do the trick as well.

This is and was used, to detonate bombs and explosives.Even thermite can be ignated by this reaction.
