Waris Dirie, and her pack of lies in "My Belgium Nightmare"

Waris Dirie, former top model and Bond girl, currently UN ambassador, was invited in Brussels for a number of seminars, including an important meeting with Condoleezza Rice.
After a heavy night out, she doesn't have any clue on which hotel she was staying. The Brussels police tries to help her, driving around and visiting numerous hotels. Fed up with driving around, Waris Dirie suddenly walks away, and disappears for three days. The very same Brussels police finally finds her, shopping for groceries with a Brussels window cleaner.
In a press conference shortly after, she declares to be alright, and apologizes for not showing up at the UN.
However, once back in Vienna, being hospitalized, she suddenly throws a statement all over YouTube, accusing Brussels police for racism and talking about sexual assault. In one smooth movement, she manages to insult all Belgians by naming Belgium 'a racist country'.
Her acting is bad, the story is confused, and her statement matches by no means the one made by the Brussels police.
The general feeling is that Ms Dirie, having admitted she has a drinking problem earlier on, must have been completely 'away from the world' after her night out, and starts realizing now what important meetings she has missed at the UN in Brussels. Instead of just admitting she acted in an irresponsible way, she now tries to put responsibility of by falsely accusing the Brussels police. In this short movie, the spokesman of the Brussels police is telling his side of the story.

I live in Brussels and I am Danish. Also an admirer of Waris Dirie. The Belgian police's reaction and over self-defending attitude is very typical. I live here and I have seen how everybody in uniform abuse their power as much as they can. Belgian authorities are rotten. Everybody sees it. On top of that racist and corrupt.

Shame on Belgium. This country should get kicked out of EU and BEG BEG BEG to get back in by cleaning up all its dirt...

@missgarowe All I have to say about his statement is that her not telling the second lot of police about poor treatment from the first lot means nothing. If I were abducted and molested by police officers, there is NO WAY I would tell more police (in a foreign country too) what had happened. The police officer admits that she made an excuse to buy a packet of cigarettes while the officers were distracted. Is that the action of a free person leaving or a scared person escaping? If she were not under duress she'd have said "I've had enough, I'll find my own way. Thank you for your time and goodbye"

Moving to another country your university degrees or trade diplomas may not count for much, your family & friends are left behind, everything you know. Maybe you can't get a good job in a new country whose language you don't speak or you don't have savings to support yourself. Maybe your children or partner doesn't want to leave. @valicirinalaura Please don't get me wrong: I have the deepest respect for what Waris has done for women rights and the battle against female mutilation. No doubt about that. As she's a public figure, everyone knows she had some issues with drugs and alcohol. No problem, half of the world has a drinking or drugs habit. But where she went wrong is blaming the Belgian police for an error she made herself. Belgians are by no means more racist than any other people, rather the contrary.
