The demon was named after Canaanite goddess Ashtoreth. The Canaanite religion was polythestic and idolatrous, but not pagan. Furthermore, Walt Disney (who may or may not have been a Mason/Illuminati) died 5 years before this film was released. There is often hidden symbolism in Disney films, but it is usually very subtle.

@JudePal Only in middle and modern Christianity is the word "Lucifer" another word for the devil. In pagan religion, Lucifer was often a word for the planet Venus, as the word means "bringer of light."
