  • Awe man Where could he have been if he hadn't gotten hooked on that shit? such a phenomenal musician, so much talent. And the industry says hush, don't mention his name cause he's a pariah from the old days of Rock and Roll when it was still cool to use Smack. It's so out dated and old school now. None of the producers will touch ya now, it's so sad. they don't want the liability of no-shows.... somebody should have written a song called "Momma's don't let your babies grow up to be Rock Stars"

  • @ghfakar You nailed it brother...I lost too many friends to heroin and some are still taking the hook with opiates-pills or maintaining at clinics..it's a bad thing..rules your life and ruins it if you don't get out and you are right, Johnny just got sick of it..a bright guy, cool cat. Peace.

  • 1:45 That´s life!

  • Johnny is still the top of my list for Blues. I had the honor of seeing him in the 60s. Hands down the best Rock/Blues concert I have ever been to. Admire the genius and talent.

  • the brevity and directness of his answers made me wonder to what extent his playing is comparable

  • @yds3ray

How can you say "who cares what the man's done" and still appreciate the music? What he's done is what comes out in the music.

  • Some substances literally rewire the users brain. It attaches to the portion of the brain that controls the human drives for sex, food and survival. What a powerfully destructive thing to equate poison with survival. I hope that he stays clean for his own benefit.

  • No, I disagree. It wasn't rehab. It was the fact that he was tired of that shit. The rest of you are silly asses. You think the music means anything? Yeah. I am a musician, and I can tell you popularity is nothing if you don't have a peaceful life. His was hard. Granted, he did it to himself. Never the less, I am VERY glad he quit. I wonder what he would have been able to do without it? He is already a great guitarist, like Hendrix, he could have been even better. Drugs SUCK period.

  • And to think I'll being seeing Johnny next month... second row and centre!!
