How To Tell If Your Supplements Are Any GOOD

Many nutritional companies rely on some very minimal in-house unsubstantiated research that is downright laughable. One popular network marketing company that sells what in my opinion is overpriced fruit juice did respond to my request for information on their claims which it consisted of one 12 person study done inhouse that was not verified by any outside source. Anyone who knows statistics know that anything less than a sample population of 30 is useless.


Here's the letter:

DEAR SIRS:
 
I AM EXTREMELY INTERESTED IN YOUR PRODUCTS. I HAVE JUST ONE REQUEST.
PLEASE SEND ME A COMPLETE BIBLIOGRAPHY OF ALL OF YOUR RESEARCH THAT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED FOR PUBLICATION IN REFEREED OR PEER REVIEWED PROFESSIONAL JOURNALS.
THIS SHOULD BE PUBLISHED RESEARCH DONE BY SCIENTISTS EMPLOYED BY YOU OR THOSE ON YOUR ADVISORY BOARD CONCERNING WORK ON THE ACTUAL PRODUCTS YOU ARE SELLING.

yes just got an auto reply email ... they endevour to reply however its not always possible as they get such a large amount of emails ... mmmm excuses excuses huh

yes - that is common - companies with something to share are more than happy to divulge... those without - make excuses. I had a friend who wanted me to take a look a mona vie last year and they did reply, but they only had an inhouse study using 24 people (stataticians know u need @ least 30 for a legit study) - what's more, is the people used were employees/affiliated with MV... can we say conflict of interest?

remember, some may claim [in house clinical studies] but unless it's ACCEPTED FOR PUBLICATION IN REFEREED OR PEER REVIEWED PROFESSIONAL JOURNALS, it's meaningless. Why? well, basically they realize that under unbiased scrutiny, their claims would be found to be bogus in most cases.
