Monsieur Chevalier ran the race of his life after breaking his pelvis. Really wished he's gained an extra half a length then I'd have been laughing all the way to the bookies
@john131349 It says a lot about a person when they try to make themselves feel better by running others down. Did you not have enough toys when you were growing up or something?
@john131349 Star witness couldn't get with 6L of Hay List over 6F. Not a bad effort for a 3rd/4th stringer. Imagine how ordinary the rest would look if Hay List were there, let alone Black Caviar.
@bgardiner2000 Yes, I saw that. It was a very brave run, and he gave his backers a sight for their money. This is only the second time he has raced on what has been officially designated a slow track, but the English slow is equivalent to an Australian heavy. He handled it OK, but started to feel his legs at the end. Newmarket is possibly the toughest 6f on a premier track and could find him out. However, he is the son of Starcraft. English racing fans will remember what a good miler he was.
@bgardiner2000 have a look at the july cup on youtube, its uphill for the last 2 furlongs and a lot of milers have ran well in it in the past, you need a bit more stamina to get home
@SvendBosanvovski I think Steven Arnold made a good point when he said that given the conditions the 6F ran more like a 7F race. He definitely got pretty tired once he pulled to the front. Pretty game effort and you'd have to think he'd been right in the mix for the July Cup if rain stays away? The winner's definitely proved himself at the level after his 2nd last year.
