Sarah and Kirsten are the only people who take care of the salingers properly without dumping them as soon as things get difficult.Like with Baileys drinking problem, he almost killed Sarah but that made Sarah even more determined to help him.
But the bad thing is that the salingers take them for granted and soon they will just leave

julia was lucky to find out so early on what kind of guy griffin really was. what i don't understand was why on earth she was stupid enough to take him back- if he'd do it once what's to stop it happening again! even before this happened i thought that griffin just holds julia back. at 18, someone as bright as her should be in college/university, not married to some loser and struggling to make ends meet.
