How to: Pick a Kwikset Doorknob Lock

This is more of a watch and learn rather than a tutorial, but you can see how I insert each pick, and I do give some instruction with each pick and what I like abou them.

Credit card is alot faster

@30039103c With houses like mine, we have protectors so people can't slide things into doors. So a credit card wouldn't work.

I understand you have the better lock on the stormdoor. I would just start by picking the stormdoor with a brick and then move on to the front door with the picks. : )

@elebeu We live in a development with nosy neighbors. I don't think you're getting much further than that. Plus, the dogs will be barking.

how much practice did you do untill you got good at picking locks, and did you start with bobby pins paper clicks etc or a set?

@videogamecraver1 It actually took me a couple months. I tried once, couldn't get it, gave up, and came back a few months later. When I first got it, I was so excited that I just kept practicing. I tried on different doors, but we have locks that have security pins and others that were just flat out hard. I started with bobby pins and then I bought a kit.

You shouldn't pick locks that you still use.. Unless it's an emergency (let's say you forgot your keys). Just giving some advice. Nice tutorial though.

@30039103c do you know what a dead-latch is? anti credit card. Quick set is one of the worst locks to have and the easiest to pick.
